When you post an activity on the calendar, you will be required to answer 10 risk management questions. You can answer "yes", "no", or "N/A" (not applicable) for each question.

  1. Is the trip within 3 hours of the trailhead?
  2. Is it easy to manage or avoid falls?
  3. Is any stationary/slow moving water that the program takes place in less than 25 cm deep and any fast moving water that the program takes place in less than 15 cm deep with no down-water hazards?
    1. If your activity is not taking place in water, you can answer this question with "N/A".
  4. If there is tidal water, will the program take place in a gently sloping and non-slippery intertidal zone with no surge?
    1. If your activity is not taking place in water, you can answer this question with "N/A".
  5. Is the area generally sheltered or does it have easy retreat to shelter?
  6. Is the activity on trails, a city park, or untracked with natural boundaries and/or hand rails?
  7. Is there a first aid kit on site?
    1. As a club leader, we ask that you bring a simple first aid kit with you if there is not one already on site.
  8. Do you know where the nearest hospital is?
    1. If you do not know this already, do a quick search to learn which hospital is nearest to your activity site.
  9. Do you have the ability to contact emergency services?
    1. Bring a phone with you, and stay within service range.
  10. Is safe drinking water available (such as a fountain or water bottles for the youth) or do you have the ability to purify water?
    1. If water is not available, make a note in your description asking participants to bring their own water.
